Biography
I am a 27 year old male from the great state of Minnesota. As I was growing up in school, every geography class I was ever in my teacher had my undivided attention. The more I learned about what was out there in the world, the more I wanted to go and actually see in real life. They say pictures don’t always do justice and that only rang more true over time.
Before I went off on my own adventures later in high school, I was fortunate enough growing up to tag along on some of my fathers travel for work and the occasional family vacation. Those got the surrounding midwestern states and then bigger tourist states out of the way like California, Florida, Alaska (and even Puerto Rico) pretty easy. The summer before I hit college I was around 15 states and at that point I knew I had to keep it going. As we grow older we have friends move for jobs, planned vacations with friend groups, and all kinds of experiences that bring us to different parts of the US. I knew that if I kept up my travel I could easily knock out a small chunk of states every year and that’s exactly what I did. I knew that once I settled down and got older this would becoming increasingly difficult, so the sooner the better was my motto.
I would attribute most of my remaining state visits to friends that had a similar desire to travel, my overall love of following sports, and experiences through various jobs and activities that allowed me the opportunity to travel. College is truly where I thrived and found myself and the point in my life where I knew I was all in. I was able to knock off the roughly 30-35 states in the last 7 years and as I prep for my final trip to Hawaii, I can’t help but reflect on all the memories and the individual joys that came from visiting every state. I hope to share my experiences with others in hopes they find their main bucket list item and are inspired to finish it.
The travel bug really never truly goes away so as the years go on, I want to focus more on visiting other countries.
