Going all the way from coast to coast or border to border allows you to experience the vastness of the U.S.A. ​ 50 staters often do a cross-country trip by car or train, then take regional trips to complete all 50. Really long road trips across the country tend to be the most memorable and bound to have some unexpected experiences!

Interstate 10 - 7 states - California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida

Start in Los Angeles (Hollywood, Pacific Ocean).  Drive to Phoenix, then El Paso. Stop in San Antonio (Riverwalk, Alamo),  Stop in Houston (NASA).  On to New Orleans. (French Quarter).  Drive to Biloxi, Mobile, Tallahassee, and all the way to Jacksonville (Atlantic Ocean)

Interstate 20 - 6 states - Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina

Start on I-10 begin I-20. (Oil Museum in Odessa, TX, Sand Dunes), Dallas (JFK Museum), Shreveport, Jackson, Birmingham (civil rights), Atlanta (Coke Museum, CNN), Columbia SC

Interstate 40 - 8 states - California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina

Fly to L.A. or Phoenix and head to Grand Canyon. Amarillo (Cadillac Ranch, Palo Duro Canyon), Oklahoma City, Ft. Smith, Little Rock (Clinton Library, Detour to Hot Springs), Memphis (Graceland), Nashville, Knoxville (Smoky Mountains), Asheville (Biltmore Estate), Raleigh

Interstate 70 - 8 states - Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania
