Remembering ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป today! 9 to 5! What an incredible lady and traveler! She visited ๐๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ฆ! We wish we could have presented her with an All Fifty Club certificate in person, but we're honored to recognize her achievement posthumously. She has been added to the Record Holders list of Entertainers who went to all 50.
Dolly loved to road trip and shared in interviews that she loved traveling by RV, taking the backroads, and discovering out-of-the-way places. 10 years ago, at age 70, she visited 31 states in just 6 months on her Pure and Simple Tour. She loved America and sang patriotic favorites on her album, ๐น๐๐ ๐ข๐๐น ๐ถ๐๐น ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. Thankfully, there are several Dolly Parton museums to learn about her life and legacy, and many more places to see her iconic smile and artifacts! May she rest in peace!
In an interview with National Geographic years ago, Dolly shared that she loved a road trip and traveling simply with her husbandโcheap hotels, picnics by the river, and pulling off along the road. She and her husband, Carl Dean, liked traveling in a small RV and deliberately chose backroads and old highways rather than interstates. They liked stopping at places like antique stores to find something that reminded her she'd been there.
In 2020, Dolly shared how much she loved RV travel in an interview with Trailblazer.ย She could enjoy the anonymity of traveling by RV and having her own bathroom ๐ They had identical RVs - one in Tennessee and one in Los Angeles- so they could travel up and down both coasts. They liked finding out-of-the-way places and traveling on backroads instead of the interstate.
