Memorable Travel Experience(s)

1) In 1982. I hitchhiked around the country for ten and a half months after college with a close friend, Hugh O'Neill. Incredibly, we left with only $500 between us, with no idea how we would survive, where we'd sleep, or how we would feed ourselves after our money ran out. We just figured things out along the way.
- Spent a week partying in East Lansing, MI, with two Michigan State co-eds.
- My friend met a young lady in Seattle, WA, eventually married her, and they had two children together.
- Slept on The Rainbow Warrior, a famous ship owned by the environmental organization Greenpeace.
- In Carmel, CA, shared a bar with Clint Eastwood.
- Saw the Grand Canyon for the first time.
In the end, we traveled through 28 states and had an AMAZING adventure.

2) In 1995, I spent a fabulous week on Maui with my wife, Renee.
3) Over the years, between work & family vacations, I visited every state but Alaska.
4) In August, 2026, I finally visited Alaska!
