Memorable Travel Experience(s)

1. Kalaupapa Leper colony on island of Molokai, Hawaii. We rode down the 4000 ft cliffs w/26 switchbacks on mules to the site where patients were dropped off in the water and swam to shore in 1866. Still active today and is a National Historic Site. Entry by strict permits only. 2. Oregon Dunes Natl. Rec. Area. We rode ATVs over massive sand dunes to the Pacific Ocean. 3. Overseas Hwy 1 to Key West, Florida was a trip to remember. We visited Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for dinner & music; Hemingway's home (and while I was in the bookstore, my husband counted to see how many cats had six toes); Pres. Harry Truman's summer White House and many other sites. 4. Blanchard Springs Caverns in the Ozark Mountains of scenic Arkansas. Guided tours on three levels of this memorable living cave!
