Biography
Étienne Athea is a French traveler and antique hunter with a lifelong passion for the United States. After 100 trips across America, he has explored all 48 continental states, more than 1,500 towns and cities, and hundreds of back roads far from the usual tourist routes. Through antique stores, flea markets, ranches, Route 66, fire stations and encounters with communities such as the Amish, Étienne loves discovering and sharing the “real America.” Alaska and Hawaii are now the final two states left on his journey to all 50.

Memorable Travel Experience(s)
My first trip to the U.S. was New York in December 2001, just months after 9/11. I was 20, fulfilling a childhood dream, but I also wanted to be there to pay tribute to New Yorkers and show my support for America.
Texas was another unforgettable trip: cowboys, BBQ, wide-open spaces and First Monday Trade Days in Canton, a dream for me as an antique hunter. I was warmly welcomed and even celebrated Thanksgiving there.
In Pennsylvania, I had the rare privilege of spending time with the Amish, learning about their way of life and being welcomed by a family.
Finally, Montana gave me an incredible feeling of freedom: endless roads, ranches, mountains, snow and sunshine. Driving there with my music on is one of my strongest memories of America.
