Biography

Started our travels in 2011 when our we adopted our children, who were 6 and 7 at the time. We decided after visiting about 10 states that we should try to get in all 50 as a family. We would have been done 2 years ago but Covid put a wrench into our plans.  Since we live in California, that is our first state and 50 will be Alaska in July. Our cruise will also serve as a high school graduation and birthday celebration for our son, who will turn 18. Our goal was to finish them by the time he finished high school because we know it will only get harder to travel as a family once he’s graduated. It’s hard to pick one favorite state and there are many that we want to return to, including Hawaii (of course!); Maryland (Chesapeake Bay}; Wyoming (Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons); South Dakota (Black Hills); and the Oregon Coast. My tip for travelers who want to visit 50 states is to not visit the south in the summer LOL.
