Memorable Travel Experience(s)

1. While hiking through North Cascades National Park (Washington), I stood 10 feet from a growling mountain lion. I sprinted away but the feline, thankfully and inexplicably, never chased or attacked!2. I once pretended to be a multimillionaire interested in buying a $10 million island for sale called Ballast Key (Florida), just so I could visit the southernmost road and point in the 48 states.3. I visited 6 sporting events within 8 hours (Michigan and Wisconsin), working my way up through NAIA, Division III, Division II, Division I, minor league, and professional sports in that order. MLive.com wrote a nice article about me regarding the feat.4. I drove through a forest fire in Oregon and nearly became trapped, finally locating a road where I could escape the blaze encircling me. Thank heavens for the computer software DeLorme and their incredibly thorough map program!
