Biography

I am a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, technical writer, editor, girlfriend, friend, cousin, hobby baker, beginner gardener, and many other things. I love to travel, and I successfully hit all 50 states before I turned 56. I just visited my 5oth state: Alaska! I had planned to visit several states during 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic got in the way. I managed a safe road trip with my cousin to Nebraska and South Dakota in July of 2020, and did something similar with my boyfriend to hit Mississippi early in 2021. I also recently added Colorado, where I hiked with a high school friend, and Oregon, where I visited a close friend for four days. My latest trip to Las Vegas (April 2022) included a quick trip to Utah, and a trip back to Colorado involved a short visit to Wyoming. Hawaii was wonderful in October of 2022, and I hit Idaho and Montana while in Spokane for work. Alaska, state #50 happened in September of 2023.
