Traveler Info
Biography
I began traveling with my family via station wagon from Houston, Texas to many states in the west and east as a kid from age 4 to 18. I was enamored with trying to see all 50 state license plates on each trip and I succeeded on most of them. It was always hard to find a state license plate from Hawaii and Alaska.
After I graduated college, I worked multiple jobs where I had a chance to visit many different states. I credit my wife, Kathy, for being a part of this, even when she didn’t travel with me. She was home with three small kids. Kathy also traveled a lot with me, especially in the last 10 years visiting Alaska, Montana, South Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont and Maine (among many others!). I also crossed over 1 million miles with United Airlines.
Two years ago, I decided to sit down and list out the states that I have visited (and not just the airport). I was surprised that I had all of them but 3. We did a trip from Vermont to Maine for the Lobster Festival which knocked out states 48 and 49. It was a beautiful trip.
Now I am down to 1 state, which isn’t even that far. North Dakota. We already have a trip planned beginning on July 5th. I can’t wait to knock off that last state and celebrate with champaign and bourbon.
Cheers to all!
Chuck
