Traveler Info
Biography
I am the youngest of 2 children and have an older brother who lives in Georgia. I am currently 72 years old and I retired from a local university in February 2019. I have been traveling since the 1970’s. Much of my traveling has been done solo but have had travel companion(s) at various times. I love going on group bus tours and have done so 6 times. Four of the tours were in the U.S. while the other 2 were in Europe. When someone else is doing the driving, it provides me the opportunity to take in all the sights better. Meeting new people on these tours is also a plus.
I am in my 5th. year of delivering Meals on Wheels in my community and find it very rewarding. The seniors who receive these meals are very appreciative and it is very nice to meet and chat with them. Many of our senior centers and churches offer day and/or overnight trips and I join them often. The senior centers also host various holiday parties (Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s day, Easter, Christmas, etc.) so I attend many of them. I often meet girlfriends or high school classmates for lunch or dinner. I love retirement and all the activities that I am able to participate in. I also do dogsitting for family and friends.
I am a Detroit Tigers baseball fan and attend several games throughout the summer. In my travels, I have had the opportunity to visit 8 MLB ballparks, most recently Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX and Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX this past May. I don’t know if I will hit all of them as I should have started that quest a long time ago.
