Visit the U.S. Territories

January 29, 2025

After visiting all 50 states, continue the USA journey by exploring the inhabited United States territories.  It is a chance to discover places that are often overlooked but equally deserving of recognition and exploration. So, why stop at 50? The territories offer a treasure trove of experiences that will deepen your appreciation for the diversity, beauty, and history of America’s extended family. Which territory will you visit first?

  • Puerto Rico

  • U.S. Virgin Islands

  • Guam

  • Northern Mariana Islands

  • American Samoa

Each U.S. territory offers plenty to explore on its own, but it's more efficient to visit nearby territories on the same trip.

Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands - Many flights to USVI have a layover in Puerto Rico.

Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands - Guam and the main island of the Northern Mariana Islands, Saipan, are just 130 miles apart. Flights to Guam originate from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Honolulu, Hawaii with connecting flights to Saipan.

America Samoa - American Samoa is located in Oceania and is often associated with Australia. However, it is a 6-hour flight from Honolulu and a 10-hour flight from Sydney.
